Nashville News: Airbnb Regulations; 50,000 Jobs From One New Business?

Here’s an update on some of the real estate-related activities and news in the Nashville, TN area.

Airbnb / Short Term Rental Property Regulations

As you may have heard from chit chat around town or from our previous article on the matter, new legislation has been made it’s way through Metro Nashville to require a phase-out of all STRP properties that are non-owner occupied.

However, last week the Tennessean wrote about the Metro Council meeting. You can read the details there, but in a nutshell, they have pushed the decision back again. They voted to defer the decision to a future meeting while a committee can put together more research on the implications of implementing this regulation.

50,000 Jobs to TN?

Amazon.com has put Nashville, TN, in the running for a 2nd headquarters location. Sources have told me Nashville checks all of Amazon’s boxes except for one: public transit. Read more about it here.
